Guo Guo Xiang BBQ Steamboat at Damansara Uptown

One of the things that I really missed while I was in New Zealand was STEAMBOAT!!! Especially when it was super cold during winter....OMG! Could you just imagine the craving....ok....a super hunky, hot guy would have done the trick of keeping me warm but let's safe that story for another day....:-S

Auckland, New Zealand: My Indonesian Chinese gf & a French guy friend got themselves the "SPICY" flavoured soup broth while "I" the failed M'sian got the herbal soup version :-P

In New Zealand, like all other Western countries that has been invaded by the Chinese (hua ren wan sui!), The closest thing I could get was the mainland chinese version called "hot pot".....taste wise it was so-so only nia...not enough to satisfy my cravings but price-wise....it was NZD$25 per person a.k.a RM 60!!! Oh wells~~~ When a Malaysian Girl wants her cravings appease, she GETS her cravings appeased...at a cost though :-S

 Fast Forward 2 months later, I AM BACK in HOT & SUNNY (literally!) Food Haven Malaysia! :-D

MHB (Malaysia's Hottest Blogger) was invited to Damansara Uptown to review a new steamboat restaurant...

Don't you just love MALAYSIA?! We get 2 soup based broth PLUS BARBEQUE somemore!!!!!!!!!!

 I think we Malaysian are soooo soooo spoilt! AND our tummies are always happy :-D Overseas (gwei loh/ang moh countries)....we have to choose either Chinese Hot Pot (Soup Only) or Korean Barbeque (BBQ only)...

Pardon my center parting hair....Forgot to side part my hair before I took pictures!!!I'm naturally a center parting haired person but looks better with side parting...though in Feng Shui, they say that the higher & wider the forehead the smarter you are....I do not doubt that at all...Muahahahahah!!!

What I LOVE about the meat at Guo Guo Xiang is that it's SUPER FRESH!!! Look at the pictures below and you'll find that the meat is bright & red in color.....

I HATE IT when eateries provide meat that are not fresh. You'll find that the color is grey-ish/brown-ish some how looks like a bruise :-S....such a MAJOR turn off for stuff that you put in your mouth eh?

MY FAVORITE!!!! BACON!!! It was a bit on the salty side but I was majorly craving salty stuff that night...dunno why...not pregnant, no worries...lolx!

 

 

The owner mentioned that the most "Special" sauce was the sesame one (in beige) which is imported from China. He said mainland chinese dishes usually have this sauce...Totally agree with him as I have tasted this sauce before during my travels to China and also while eating at a Mainland Chinese restaurant XD
