FOOD REVIEW: Fine Dining at Perahu Restaurant, Avani Sepang Gold Coast

He's so tall, and handsome as hell
He's so bad but he does it so well
I can see the end as it begins my one condition is

Say you'll remember me
Standing in a nice dress, staring at the sunset babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks
Say you'll see me again even if it's just in your wildest dreams
Wildest dreams-Taylor Swift

Me being me, forever in the state of "wanderlust"...always craving and looking for an adventure or next adventure. Sometimes, I really cannot stand my short attention span and my inability to sit still yet my curiosity is what makes me an exciting personality who is incredibly multi-talented (as I'm always learning/moving on to the next hobby). Oh wells, I can never win I guess :-P

In the next few days, I'll be posting on my travels to places/location that are less than 2 hours drive from KL.
I've heard of Sepang Gold Coast for a really long time and decided to bring my mum there for a dinner treat :-) I would have to note that the journey there is not fun. Very bad and small roads/alley and at night, the street light is really dim.

Avani Resort was previously known as Golden Palm Spring resort and is famous for it's aerial view "palm tree" looking resorts.

Arrived at 5.45pm and it was slightly hazy/cloudy that day hence, we couldn't really see the sun

To be honest, the sand ain't that clean and the beach has a lot of sharp stones making it not really comfortable to walk around on bare feet.

That's the public beach on the other side

One of the smartest things that the hotel operators have invested in!!! It can get super hot and humid as the restaurant is open air
You can see the long stretch of water chalets behind me

Long Island Tea & Shirley Temple

Crab Cake (RM 33)

Presentation was beautiful. But the crab cake had an extremely pungent/fishy smell to it :-(

Smoked Duck (RM 28)

Smoked duck dish was delicious, highly recommended
Espresso Braised Short Ribs (RM 80)
Beautifully done, very well marinated, tender with a rich flavour
I've always had a slight obsession with sunsets
Dunno if I feel the same about sunrise coz I can never wake up to watch the sunrise :-S
Picture time!!!

Next to perahu is.....I can't stop laughing.....really? "slut" bar???
After dinner we paged for a van to take us to the main resort so that we can can a look at the chalets. It was pretty dark though so these were the best pictures I could take.

VERDICT: I heard it's pretty expensive to stay here per night. Honestly, there's nothing much to do. Restaurant was good though and food prices were reasonable. Worth a visit.
